3D Animation Contest

Recommended software: (all free, and legal!)

  • Blender 3D - for 3D animation and video production
  • Audacity - for Music and Sound
  • Gimp - for images (basically the free version of photoshop)
  • MuseScore - Free music composition & notation software
  • Inkscape - Like Illustrator.
  • Celtx - Set up a storyboard for your video!
  • CamStudio - Record your desktop!
  • VLC Player - Media player

ONLINE:

  1. Online Grand Prize Winner (voting will occur at the convention panel)
    • Right now the first prize is $100 in cash!
  2. Online Second Place (voting will occur at the convention panel)
    • Blender T-shirt (provided by blender.techyfx.com)
    • NebrasKon T-shirt (provided by Anime Nebraskon)
AT THE CONVENTION
  1. Anime NebrasKon Attendees' Choice (must be present to win, voting will occur at the convention panel)
    • VIP pass to 2010 NebrasKon, NebrasKon T-shirt, anime DVD (all provided by Anime Nebraskon)


Rules

  1. The animation needs to be more than 40 seconds long
  2. No nudity (this is a family convention)
  3. No copywrited material (this includes music) - be creative!
  4. 75% of the video needs to be 3D animation. 2D / live footage may be used.
  5. Any software may be used to make the video (we recommend Blender 3D) - just make sure it's 100% your stuff
  6. Video needs to be in a format that can be played by VLC player (link above)
  7. Online: Video needs to be submitted by 11/1/2009. To submit a video, please contact nicktechyguy@techyfx.com
  8. Attending: Submit your video in person by 9:00pm Centeral time on Saturday 11/7/2009
